Radiant Orchid, the Colour of 2014

Radiant Orchid is tipped by Pantone to be the 2014 colour of the season. Whilst this vibrant tone of purple may seem a bit daunting to some, this really is a very versatile colour that you can throw into your wedding scheme on a large scale or use as an accent. It is a very versatile colour that sits easily with neutrals like grey/ivory & it will come to life when paired with softer tones of lilacs, peaches and zesty limes or waxy succulents.

Mmmm… delicious orchid ombre frill cake adorned with delicate sugar paste flowers. If you decide on a simpler design you could decorate with VV Rolleoux ribbons which you can also use for your stationary, & additional wedding decor.

Cara’s orchid lips paired with the white orchids in her hair is a good example, which with your white wedding dress you can pull off these stunning earrings & Jimmy Choos if your dress covers them but if you have a cocktail dress length you could loose the earrings in favour of your Choos

Last but not least lets enjoy a berry infused cocktail that will taste delicious & take on the right shade of colour to bring your colour scheme together in full wing, your guests will be so impressed!orchid wedding bride

Bridal Style Guide: Spring 2013

Saying I do in 2013 will be a very romantic affair indeed. The bridal runway was a sweep of ruffles, sparkles & 30’s glamour.

We welcome you to my Little Wedding Book’s Bridal Cheat sheet for Spring/Summer 2013.

This season wedding gowns have taken on a less structured or corseted silhouette & the shape is far more relaxed & romantic. Get ready to embrace your inner vintage with skimming silk gowns inspired from the 1930’s. Ruffled skirts, larger than life bows, mermaid tails & a new trend for embracing colour, really does make Spring 2013, a bridal runway to remember!

Lace makes a fresh come back, as seen head to toe, as pretty back cut outs and as a soft front layer to create a strapless illusion- Marchesa takes our favourite spot for this bridal wedding dress trend!

This summer wedding hair takes on a effortless textured look, with the twisted low bun as our top pick. To complement this natural look, adorn your tresses with a jeweled headband or a spring flower garland & salt spray your way to complete your beach hair with Bumble Surf Spray.

If you are after a more classic look, the 1930’s trend will check this box. Twisted low buns are tidier, veils are embellished or cropped in soft pastel shades, and a ruffled shrug will keep the chill off in early Spring.

Wedding flowers go natural and earthy with a choice of wild flowers, & a unique choice of wheat seen at Carolina Herrera. Our suggestions to achieve this look would be to look at flowers such as: lily of the valley, sweet peas, poppies, lavender, & delphiniums.

Make-up is soft & minimal. The runway favourite has to be blue underlined eyes & for the glam 1930’s trend, add a touch of rouge to the lips. Peachy cheeks, nude lips and wet look eyelids is our top bridal look to complement the romantic style dominating the spring bridal runway.

Last but not least, the summer wedding shoes! If Cinderella had to upgrade her glass slippers she would be thrilled with the princess jeweled beauties on offer. Look out for pearl, crystal and flower embellished wedding shoes…….welcome to wedding shoe heaven. xxx
